SUNSET IN SAN IGNACIO LAGOON

Laguna-San-Ignacio

Like every whale season, we have been going to Laguna de San Ignacio quite often. With the same astonishment of all the years we contemplate the reproduction cycle of the gray whale, a cetacean that goes annually to the protected margins of the peninsular coast in the Pacific coasts, to mate or have their young.

Early spring, it can be said is the best time of the year to come to meet the friendly gray. Their arrival in the lagoons is monitored since the last days of December and their departure begins at the beginning of April. However, the moment of the season in which we carry out this activity with the greatest success is the 10 from February to 28 from March.

The lagoon of San Ignacio has been recognized internationally, as one of the best places in the world to perform the activity of observing gray whale. Undoubtedly an unforgettable show the encounter with these magnificent marine mammals, in its natural state.

It is very important to remember that such activity should be considered a privilege. We are pleased to say that we do our part by informing ourselves and respecting the guidelines imposed by the environmental authorities, as well as the measures adopted by the inhabitants of each locality where whale watching takes place.

In our Facebook page You will find more photographs of some of our excursions to the Laguna de San Ignacio. We invite you to read on our page about the tours that we offer for both gray whales in the Pacific, as well as for Blues and many more in the Sea of Cortez.
